The Best Person (run by [Company legal name]) sends two kinds of text messages. Message and data rates may apply.
1. Verification codes
When you enter your mobile number and tap “Send me a code”, we text you a one-time 6-digit code. You get a code only when you ask for one.
2. “You were named” notes
When someone names you one of the three best people they know, they usually text you the link to their note themselves, from their own phone. If they don’t within about 30 minutes, we text you once instead, with a link to their note. For example:
Hi Jordan, this is The Best Person. Maya Chen just named you one of the three best people they know, and picked a few words about why. Name your three to see them: https://… Reply STOP to opt out.
The link shows who named you. To read what they said, you name three people of your own and text each of them their note. You never have to: the text asks nothing else of you, and replying STOP ends it.
Frequency: up to one message per day when someone names you. If several people name you on the same day, we fold them into one text. We only text between 9 AM and 8 PM in your local time.
Stopping and help
- Reply STOP to any message to stop all texts from us. You’ll get one confirmation, and nothing after that.
- Reply START to receive texts again.
- Reply HELP for help, or contact [contact email].
Notes written for you are saved even if you’ve opted out, so you can still read them if you visit on your own. You can delete your data at any time.
The fine print
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. We never sell or share phone numbers for marketing. See our privacy policy for how numbers are protected.
